Eden Plus by LG HI-MACS Contains Recycled Material
The Eden Plus collection by LG HI-MACS® offers an environmentally conscious choice with the beauty and functionality of solid surface. The material contains up to 35 percent certified pre-consumer recycled content including trim materials, unused particulates, and pieces from sheets of solid surface that fell below production standards. The reuse of this content cuts down on waste and helps to leave a smaller carbon footprint. HI-MACS Eden Plus Surfaces are GREENGUARD Certified for Indoor Air Quality and can receive LEED credits in sustainable design. The series is available in 18 color options.
The HI-MACS production facility in Adairsville, Ga. began operations in 2005 and supplies all of North America and Europe while maintaining eco-friendly and sustainable manufacturing practices. The plant was carefully designed and constructed to avoid impacting the surrounding wetlands. Since opening, the company has successfully reduced water waste output substantially each year. It has lessened solid waste output by almost 90 percent by re-purposing previously discarded materials and deploying an aggressive waste analysis and separation process. Plants are reusing the super sacks and wooden pallets by which raw materials are delivered, while cover films are collected and in turn, recycled.
In addition to being created responsibly, HI-MACS is reportedly extremely tough. According to the company the material is scratch-resistant, stain-resistant and capable of withstanding sustained temperatures up to 225°F, allowing it to maintain its luster and hygienic properties for years to come.
