Kraftmaid Launches YouTube Channel to Assist in Specifying its Eco-conscious Cabinets
Kraftmaid Cabinetry launched a YouTube education channel to help those in the design community, i.e. architects and designers, to keep up on the most recent design technology. The company is known for its commitment to environmentalism continually monitoring its environmental impact. According to the company, it does this by using energy efficient technology and purchasing wood products in optimum dimensions to help attain the highest yield possible from every raw material board; using only Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) particle board that includes a percentage of recycled material;incinerating Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from its finishing operations; incorporating environmental impact considerations into every new product decision; and using sawdust from its operations in other products that contain recycled material, such as composite decking.
The first videos from the company are of Google SketchUp screencasts, videos explaining how to use SketchUp and the company’s more than 1,000 3-D cabinet models in the Google 3-D Warehouse.The series includes 90-second videos with tips for a variety of digital design-related topics, such as how to download and install Google SketchUp’s free version, how to access the company’s 3-D cabinet model catalog and how to make client presentations to increase sales.
