Los Angeles Offers Free Assistance for Businesses To ‘Go Green’
The City of Los Angeles Green Business Program (LAGBP) has two simple goals: to provide resources that help businesses become greener and more sustainable in everything they do, and for those businesses to receive recognition for their achievements with an official certification. This free and voluntary assistance program, launched in 2014, is aimed at increasing energy and water efficiency, generating cost-savings, reducing waste and creating a healthier environment for the people of Los Angeles. The program helps to improve employee wellness and productivity by creating a healthier environment for employees to thrive in. Greener cleaning products, for instance, reduce employee exposure to toxic chemicals. An improvement in indoor air quality leads to happier and healthier workers.
The certification program is available to businesses in the Office, Retail, Restaurant and Automotive sectors, located in the City of Los Angeles in a commercial building. Through free environmental consulting and training, the program’s knowledgeable team will provide interested companies with all the tools needed to achieve certification. The program staff has experience working with businesses in every step of the greening process and can accommodate businesses at any stage.
It is always beneficial to have a strong relationship with the City and all other government and regulatory agencies and the program can act as the liaison between your business and many public sector entities.
Additionally, LAGBP staff can connect you to third party companies in the “Green” space, from solar installers to manufacturers of recycled paper.
