TheSize Introduces Neolith SKYLINE + PURETi
Neolith by TheSize has formed a new partnership with Pureti, a manufacturer of water based photocatalytic preventative maintenance solutions, to offer architects and designers a sustainable architectural surface treatment for exterior façades.
The eco-friendly Pureti surface treatment is available for use on Neolith’s 6mm slabs, transforming the sintered stone façades into self-cleaning air purifiers. According to the company the surface treated with Pureti consequently reverses pollution, improves air quality and enables the Neolith slabs to stay cleaner for longer.
This new technology has the ability to reduce air pollution by destroying nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that contact the treated surface, using just the energy from natural sunlight.
“We’re always looking for ways to advance the technical characteristics and designs of our surfacing products to exceed the needs of home and building owners, now and in the future,” said Jacco Jurrisen, head of research and development at TheSize. “Coupling our already low-maintenance sintered stone slabs with Pureti was an easy marriage that will add another dimension to architectural and design projects. It increases building sustainability and eliminates the headache of pollution maintenance as urban development continues to grow worldwide.”
The company states that every square meter of Neolith surface treated with Pureti has the capacity to remove the emissions of a car driving 16,000 km per year from circulation. It will also reportedly provide the same ecological air quality benefits of a medium size tree by reducing nitrogen levels by up to 80 percent. Pureti is certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and contributes to LEED points.
Pureti is now available for application on Neolith products for new build and refurbishment projects.
